Course Overview: 

 

This intensive 2-day mini fellowship offers a comprehensive introduction to the field of Hair Transplant and Hair Restoration. It is designed for medical professionals who wish to gain a foundational understanding of hair transplantation techniques, patient assessment, and postoperative care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding Hair Transplant History and Evolution: grasp the historical context and evolution of hair transplantation as a medical procedure.

  • Factors Influencing Hair Loss and Restoration: identify and explain the factors that contribute to hair loss and the need for restoration.

  • Hair Transplant Techniques Overview: gain a basic understanding of the two primary hair transplant techniques, FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction).

  • Surgical Instruments and Equipment: become familiar with the surgical instruments and equipment used in hair transplant procedures.

  • Basic Graft Extraction and Implantation Techniques: perform basic graft extraction and implantation techniques on mannequins under guidance.

  • Medical Therapies for Hair Restoration: Participants should understand the medical therapies available for hair restoration and their potential applications.

  • Patient Selection and Assessment:  gain knowledge on the importance of patient selection and assessment in hair restoration, considering factors such as donor area, patient expectations, and hair type.

  • Advanced Surgical Techniques: observe and understand advanced surgical techniques, which may include more complex procedures like hairline design and temple angle restoration.

  • Patient Postoperative Care and Follow-up: learn the basics of postoperative patient care and the importance of follow-up appointments.

  • Identification and Management of Common Complications: learn how to recognize and respond to common complications that may arise during or after a hair transplant procedure.

  • Case Studies and Outcomes Analysis: analyse case studies to evaluate the outcomes and results of different hair transplant procedures.

  • Complete Hair Transplant Procedure: hands-on practice performing hair transplant procedures, integrating the knowledge and skills acquired during the course.
